Don’t let them know where you are
“Sent from my blackberry” — ”Sent from my iPhone” — “Sent from my Treo”. These are flat out give aways that you’re not in the office. If the goal is to be wired 24×7 (at least appear to be 24×7 – you gotta sleep, c’mon), make your work desk, home desk and mobile desk identical so that people won’t know where you are exactly. All they know is that you’re awake, read their email, responded to it — regardless of the time-zone.
How to do the iPhone
- Go to Settings
- Click Mail,Contacts and Calendars
- Click Signature, change it from there. You could put exactly the same signature as you have in your work desk email signature.
How to do the Blackberry
- You need to go to setup wizard, then go to email setup
- Or you can do this from the browser also, just login to your BIS site (depends on your carrier)
- Edit the target account
- On the General Settings, you can change the default signature of email account. Change it how your work email signature ( you may have to do this for every account you defined in your Blackberry)
I haven’t used a Treo and I don’t want to risk giving an advise I haven’t tested — instead I’ll point you to this forum, there seems to be some steps on how to change the mail signature for the Treo.
